11/13/2012 Update: After three years of delivering trees to happy customers, Trees by Bike is calling it quits. Read Max’s farewell letter.

Green delivery for your green tree…and it’s a benefit for The Dougy Center. For the third year in a row, Trees By Bike is back to deliver Christmas trees on two wheels throughout the Portland metro area. You can choose between Noble and Douglas Firs ranging from five to over ten feet tall with prices ranging between $40-$65 per tree. Once you’ve ordered your perfect tree fit for trimming, scheduling your tree delivery is a snap—choose an available date and time that fits your schedule and your tree will arrive on your doorstep.

Trees By Bike is a small business created by Portland folks who are looking to spread some holiday cheer, make a little extra money, and raise some cash for things they care about. All of their trees are locally grown and 10% of your order total is donated to a special charity they select each year. For 2011 they chose Portland’s The Dougy Center, an incredible organization that provides assistance to grieving children and their families.

Trees By Bike made their first official deliveries during the holiday season of 2009. Starting with humble roots, delivering around 50 trees and operating out of a local bike shop, it has grown incredibly – doubling their deliveries in 2010 and now further expanding their delivery area and operations to accommodate another boom in business for 2011 holidays.  Starting the Friday after Thanksgiving, November 25th, its riders will be rolling through Portland with the freshest, most beautiful Oregon fir trees.

A Benefit for The Dougy Center

You can also take pride in knowing that 10% of the cost of your tree goes straight to The Dougy Center, a charity that provides a safe place and support for children, teens and families who are coping with the loss of loved ones. With one stop, you can support a local, eco-friendly business and a local charity, all while filling your home with holiday cheer. The result? A win-win situation that keeps everyone’s name at the top of Santa’s “nice” list.
