Filmed by Bike Seeks Bicycle-Themed Movies

Put your eight minutes of cycling bliss up on the big screen. Filmed by Bike is a film festival that features the best bike movies from around the world. Submissions are limited to a mere eight minutes. Grab your GoPro camera, iPhone, or whatever recording device suits your fancy and hit record.

Love stories, documentaries, animation and wild adventure films flash across the silver screen every April for this three-day festival.

The deadline for entries is January 20, 2013. Movie tickets go on sale in March.

Highlights

• Movies do not need to be filmed while riding a bike.
• A jury of 10 preeminent bicycle and film enthusiasts selects the films.

Filmed by Bike celebrates the artistic side of cycling. Bicycle culture is on the rise as cities across the globe transform their landscape to welcome two-wheeled transportation. The creative aspects of cycling, from bicycle-themed bands to dance troupes, have grown over the years and the 11th Annual Filmed by Bike has been there every pedal stroke of the way.

“We are excited to showcase the creativity of bikers on the silver screen,” says Festival Director Ayleen Crotty. “Cyclists do so much more than simply ride bikes; they are creative and energetic innovators. The films reflect this talent. We are proud to display such an impressive collection of films that give offer a peek into global cycling cultures.”
