Need a Bike Rack for Your Business?

Commuter Bikes

I was at a great little place called Cafe Eleven. It’s on Rosa Parks near MLK. There isn’t a bike staple to be found, and the owner says she’s been trying for a year to get the city to install some on the parking strip out front. I asked my friends from the Portland Society how a business goes about getting a bike rack installed in front of its location.

When we were moving to our new location at the corner of SE 7th and Stark, I called PBOT Transportation Options and they were more than accommodating. The question was not “if”, but “how many would you like?” The biggest delay was making sure it wasn’t raining when they sent someone out to mark the sidewalk areas and then ensure it wasn’t freezing rain when they came back for the installation. 503-823-5490 /options@pdxtrans.org is the contact I have on file. Good luck! ~ Jennifer
